I was calm
I was a new born rose
I said “Mum, I don’t wanna do no harm, I don’t wanna grow a single thorn,
is this the only world you know? Where can i go?” “Baby hold onto your skin It’s not just a temporary glove, no, that’s the stuff,” she said “that’s the material.” Without a dream
 I’m meat and I’m decay
 just waiting for a bereaver
But even dreaming is too much feedback and delay
It's moving through me like a fever Where can I go? When I’m reverse invisible ‘Cause I’m reverse invisible Yes I’m reverse invisible
 I feel reverse invisible

Universal time A virus in the lining of the womb A superstructure ticking from my tomb Greed is in the system Eating through the ceiling of the biosphere So beat me into line And gag me with religion, it's the same The torture of the object is the name Harvesting a rhythm of psychic pain Until I'm grieving the biosphere I'm February forever Climbing through the fires of purgatory Well I could stay forever Swimming in my synchronicity But February forever I'm wrestling with desire for a scene A dressing gown, a doorway and an endless seam February forever I'm crying with desire for the scene Getting higher and higher on a timeless dream Getting higher and higher Getting higher and higher... I could stay forever I could stay forever I could stay forever I could stay forever... Universal mind Tuck me inside your universal score 'Cause I'm sucking on the pendulum no more From mass hallucination to inward spore I'm leaving the biosphere [And I think it's leaving me] Bye bye bye bye biosphere Bye bye bye bye biosphere Bye bye bye bye biosphere Bye bye bye bye bye biosphere

Oh it is
 a little warm
 in my body today
 I wonder if I have a disease
I stumble through my worry to a clearing Am I breaking my boundaries ‘Cause it is
 very warm
 for an April day
I’m living in a state of emergency
There is really nothing to be sure of
so I attend to my tendency
to bury my head in the bosom of a fantasy As I’m building my boundaries (I was) Shaken up
 Along the way
 Just a minor delay
Now I meet my friends and the books I read With a truer sense of what I need
 Awake in maturity
Love is aware of a woman in her seventies And I wanna go
right now and pick her up
I wanna take her out for a walk in the rays of the sun valley
I wanna hear about Greenham Common and women in solidarity When they took to the silos non-violently
She chained herself to the boundary Cos it is
 truly a crime
Just a’living and a’breathing in this cruel world I’m a’suffering most of the time
Is there a glitch on the pathway to peace?
God only knows how I keep
Building and a’breaking and a’taking my liberties

about

Ursa Major Moving Group is the debut project of multi-instrumentalist, composer and writer Ursula Russell.

Her self-titled debut album is an intense and dynamic musical journal of a process of individuation, wherein songs are offered as myths for a new world. Tracing a constellation of various entangled characters as they perpetually transform and integrate separate parts of self within the context of an increasingly mechanised society, Ursula’s stories are a celebration of hyper-sensitivity as a vital technology for change.

“I’ve been learning about the importance of making yourself as sensitive as you can so that you know what you truly desire, away from the forces of algorithms and societal conventions. In this sense, the album can be imagined as a protective spell or a self-governing vortex, created as a matter of life and death. In spinning such energy, wayward fragments of self are transformed into instruments of desire, cthonically woven to conjure every note, word and beat, not as an aesthetic and quantifiable objective known in advance, but as an experiment in re-composing the necessarily disruptive sensitivity of which their stories were born and of which they have heretofore been dispossessed.”
